A fix is a controlled change record
Every proposal identifies:
- affected store, product, variant, and market
- current value
- proposed value
- source evidence
- expected public outcome
- affected Theme, feed, or sales channel
- claim or compliance risk
- backup and rollback
- required approver
For the DockPro compatibility gap:
Current:
"Supports dual 4K displays."
Proposed:
"Dual-display mode on Apple silicon requires DisplayLink Manager.
Standard macOS display mode supports one external display."
The proposal names the product description block, compatibility metafield, and documentation page. It does not automatically rewrite unrelated catalog copy.
Agent tools remain bounded
Retrieval agents do not receive write permission. The change-planning agent can draft a proposal but cannot approve itself. A Shopify write tool receives only the approved objects and fields.
Sensitive areas require stronger review:
- health and safety claims
- ingredients and allergens
- compatibility guarantees
- price and subscription terms
- returns and warranty
- Theme code
- robots and feed controls
Recovery is part of the fix
The prior value, Theme state, actor, approval, execution result, and rollback instruction remain attached to the change.
After execution, success is not declared from the API response. The change proceeds to Verify.
