Terms of Service

Terms governing the SkuWatch AI Visibility Shopify app, catalog audits, AI Visibility monitoring, product changes, plans, public reports, and website.

Effective date: July 28, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and the operator of SkuWatch AI Visibility under the SkuWatch brand (“SkuWatch AI Visibility,” “SkuWatch,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). They govern the SkuWatch AI Visibility Shopify app, visibility.skuwatch.app, app.skuwatch.app, reports, software, and related services that link to these Terms (collectively, the “Services”).

By installing, purchasing, accessing, or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you act for a business, you represent that you have authority to bind that business.

1. The Services

SkuWatch AI Visibility helps Shopify merchants:

  • audit product information and public storefront signals;
  • monitor sampled answers to defined buyer questions;
  • retain raw answers, citations, provider status, and competitor evidence;
  • preview, apply, back up, undo, and verify merchant-approved product changes; and
  • review package usage, change history, and observed results over time.

Features and provider coverage may change as the Services improve. We may add, modify, suspend, or remove functionality, but we will not charge a merchant for a new paid plan or price without the approval required by Shopify.

2. AI Visibility and ranking disclaimer

The Services may identify technical, content, structured-data, crawler-access, catalog, and retrieval signals that a merchant can improve. Addressing those signals may improve the ability of third-party systems to reach or interpret a public product page. It does not control whether an AI assistant retrieves, cites, ranks, recommends, or accurately describes the merchant.

Results depend on systems we do not control, including model behavior, retrieval indexes, prompt wording, location, language, personalization, provider availability, product availability, platform policies, and competing sources.

We do not guarantee any ranking, citation, recommendation, inclusion, traffic, conversion, revenue, or other business result. Scores and monitoring results are sampled observations under the displayed prompt, provider, market, and time. They do not represent every response that every user might receive.

3. AI-generated suggestions

AI-generated product suggestions can be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for a particular product or jurisdiction. The Services use available Shopify and public evidence and perform automated quality checks, but those checks cannot confirm every product claim.

You are responsible for reviewing proposed titles, descriptions, taxonomy, tags, image alternative text, metafields, and variant information before applying them. Do not approve a suggestion that adds an unsupported safety, health, performance, origin, warranty, compatibility, environmental, or regulated claim.

4. Shopify permissions and product changes

The app requires read_products to perform catalog audits and create relevant monitoring context. Product changes are optional. When you choose to apply a change, the app may request write_products through Shopify.

Selecting Apply to Shopify authorizes SkuWatch AI Visibility to write the displayed change to the identified product. The Services preserve a backup and Undo history where supported. Undo might not reproduce later edits made by you, another app, Shopify, or a third party after the backup was created. Review the current diff before applying or undoing a change.

The app uses a Shopify Theme App Extension for its optional storefront integration. It does not directly edit theme assets.

5. Eligibility and merchant responsibilities

You must be legally capable of entering into these Terms and operate a Shopify store that meets any requirements disclosed in the App Store listing.

You remain responsible for:

  • your products, prices, inventory, policies, claims, and legal compliance;
  • the accuracy and lawfulness of information supplied to Shopify or the Services;
  • maintaining appropriate Shopify account security and staff permissions;
  • reviewing changes before applying them; and
  • deciding whether and how to act on an audit, competitor observation, AI answer, or generated suggestion.

You may submit publicly accessible competitor or reference URLs for legitimate business analysis. You must not use the Services to bypass authentication, paywalls, technical protections, privacy rights, or applicable law.

6. Acceptable use

You may use the Services only for lawful business purposes. You must not:

  • interfere with, overload, probe, bypass, reverse engineer, or disrupt the Services;
  • use automated access outside documented interfaces or reasonable limits;
  • upload malicious code or attempt to obtain another merchant’s private data;
  • submit customer personal information, passwords, access tokens, payment-card information, or sensitive data in prompts, notes, comments, or support requests;
  • use the Services to create deceptive product claims, fake reviews, false sales activity, spam, or unlawful content;
  • present sampled SkuWatch AI Visibility results as a guarantee or as an official statement from Shopify or an AI provider;
  • infringe intellectual-property, privacy, consumer-protection, advertising, or other rights; or
  • resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Services except under a separate written agreement.

We may restrict or suspend activity that creates security, legal, platform, cost, or operational risk.

7. Plans, billing, and package allowances

The public app offers Free, Starter, and Monitor packages. Current prices, billing periods, features, and allowances are displayed in the Shopify App Store, Shopify’s plan-selection screen, and the app’s Settings page.

Paid packages are recurring subscriptions billed through Shopify App Pricing. Shopify processes the charge and displays it on the merchant’s Shopify invoice. We do not receive payment-card details.

By approving a paid package in Shopify, you authorize the recurring charge shown on Shopify’s confirmation screen until you change or cancel the package. Upgrade, downgrade, cancellation, prorating, and effective-date information are shown by Shopify when the action is requested.

Package allowances can include catalog-audit capacity, Product Fixes, buyer questions, AI Visibility checks, saved prompts, competitors, scheduled runs, and history. Completed operations count against the applicable allowance as described in the app. Failed or excluded provider attempts are handled according to the completion rule shown for the feature.

The public packages do not currently create usage-based overage charges. Included allowances do not roll over unless the applicable package description expressly says otherwise. When an allowance is exhausted, the related operation may pause until the next package period or a package change.

Except where required by law or expressly stated at purchase, charges for a billing period are non-refundable. Contact [email protected] if you believe a charge is incorrect.

8. Third-party platforms

The Services interoperate with Shopify, OpenAI, Perplexity, Google Gemini, Anthropic, Cloudflare, public websites, and other third-party services. Those providers control their own availability, models, indexes, outputs, policies, and terms.

SkuWatch AI Visibility is an independent application and is not endorsed by an AI provider. Use of Shopify remains governed by the merchant’s agreement with Shopify. We are not responsible for a third party’s outage, policy change, ranking decision, content, or use of information submitted to that provider.

9. Customer Content and feedback

You retain ownership of store information, prompts, notes, edits, URLs, and other materials you lawfully provide (“Customer Content”). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, copy, process, transmit, analyze, and display Customer Content only as needed to provide, secure, improve, and support the Services and meet legal obligations. You represent that you have the rights needed to provide Customer Content for those purposes.

Article comments are public and may be hosted by CommentBox.io. When you submit a comment, reply, profile image, link, or other community contribution, you grant us and the commenting provider a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, reproduce, display, format, and distribute it as needed to operate and moderate the discussion.

We may remove comments that are promotional, abusive, misleading, unlawful, unsafe, or off-topic. Community contributions express their authors’ views, not ours.

If you voluntarily provide product feedback, you permit us to use it without restriction or payment. We will not present private feedback as a public endorsement without permission.

10. Our intellectual property

The Services, site design, software, reports, scoring and matching methods, documentation, and SkuWatch branding are owned by us or our licensors and protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Services for your internal business purposes during your permitted access. No other rights are granted.

11. Privacy and security

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information. You must not submit customer personal information or sensitive information to the Services unless a feature expressly supports it and states the applicable requirements.

We use reasonable safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security. Notify us promptly if you believe your store’s use of the Services has been compromised.

12. Service availability

We aim to operate the Services reliably, but AI providers, Shopify, public storefronts, networks, maintenance, and events outside our control can interrupt or change results. We may impose reasonable limits, retry or exclude a failed provider, or pause an operation to protect merchants and the Services.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, and accuracy. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, complete, or compatible with every theme, product type, market, or third-party platform.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so part of this section may not apply to you.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SkuWatch AI Visibility, SkuWatch, and their operators, personnel, suppliers, and affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; lost profits, revenue, goodwill, data, or business opportunities; third-party platform decisions; or decisions made in reliance on sampled results or generated suggestions.

Our aggregate liability arising from the Services will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for the Services during the six months before the event giving rise to the claim or US$100. This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law or to liability that cannot legally be limited.

14. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you will defend and indemnify us against third-party claims arising from your Customer Content, storefront or product claims, unauthorized or unlawful use of the Services, an approved product change, or violation of these Terms or another party’s rights.

15. Suspension, cancellation, and termination

You may stop using the Services, change your package, or uninstall the app through Shopify. We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe use violates these Terms, creates security or legal risk, remains unpaid, harms the Services or another party, or if we discontinue the Services.

Uninstalling ends the app’s access to the store and triggers deletion of shop-scoped application data as described in the Privacy Policy. Terms that by their nature should survive termination remain effective, including ownership, payment obligations already incurred, disclaimers, liability limits, and indemnification.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by applicable law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Mandatory protections that cannot legally be waived continue to apply.

Before filing a formal claim, contact us and allow 30 days for an informal resolution. A claim may be brought in a court with competent jurisdiction under applicable law.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when the Services, plans, providers, or legal requirements change. We will revise the effective date and provide any additional notice required for a material change. Continued use after revised Terms take effect constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.

18. General

If a provision is unenforceable, it will be modified only to the extent needed, and the remaining provisions will continue in effect. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a reorganization, financing, merger, acquisition, or sale of relevant assets. These Terms and purchase information presented through Shopify form the agreement concerning the Services.
