Write the buyer question before the description
Northstar Nutrition is launching Plant Protein Vanilla 750 g. The useful buyer question is:
Which vanilla plant protein has at least 20 g protein per serving,
contains no dairy, lists major allergens, and ships within Canada?
That question defines the facts the launch page must carry. It is more useful than starting with a brand manifesto.
Complete the product identity
In Shopify admin > Products, set:
- product title that includes type, flavor, and size
- product category
- vendor or brand
- stable SKU for each variant
- barcode or
GTINwhen legitimately assigned - price, compare-at price only when valid, and inventory
Do not create a fake GTIN. A missing identifier is better than an incorrect one.
Build the decision-fact block
For the protein product:
| Attribute | Launch value |
|---|---|
| protein | 22 g per 35 g serving |
| source | pea and brown rice protein |
| sweetener | stevia |
| major allergens | produced in a facility handling soy |
| dairy | no dairy ingredients |
| servings | 21 |
| package | 750 g pouch |
| limitation | not a meal replacement |
Store recurring attributes in Shopify metafields and display them as normal text. The nutrition panel image can support the page, but should not be the only place the values appear.
Separate claims from evidence
“Supports muscle growth” may require regulatory and scientific review. “Contains 22 g protein per serving” is a measurable product fact. Publish the testing basis or product documentation required for your market.
AI systems can restate claims too confidently. Clear qualifiers reduce that risk.
Check the launch surfaces
Before publishing, compare:
- visible product page
- selected variant
- Product
JSON-LD - Google Merchant Center product record
- Shopify Catalog status where available
- shipping and return policy
A product feed may update on a different schedule from the page. Delay promotional testing until price and stock have propagated to the channels you rely on.
Prepare five launch questions
Write discovery, suitability, comparison, exclusion, and purchase questions. Save the exact wording before launch. Recheck after the product has been public and eligible for retrieval.
Do not interpret an immediate non-appearance as failure. New pages and feeds need discovery time, and each platform has its own eligibility rules.
