The product and buyer question

Signal House sells DockPro 12-in-1, model DP12-R2.

The buyer asks:

I have an M2 MacBook Air and two 4K 60 Hz monitors. Which USB-C dock
supports both displays, Gigabit Ethernet, SD cards, and at least 85W
charging? State whether software and a power adapter are required.

The model number and host device matter. “Universal USB-C dock” is not a reliable answer.

Build a compatibility matrix

Host Displays Requirement
Windows laptop with DP Alt Mode up to 2 supported displays host capabilities apply
M2 MacBook Air, standard mode 1 external display platform limitation
M2 MacBook Air, dual display 2 through DisplayLink software required
USB-C device without video output no video data/power only

Publish the tested operating-system and firmware versions. Update the matrix when software support changes.

State every port and limit

Host connection: USB-C, 10 Gbps
Display: 2 x HDMI 2.0
USB-C data: 1 x 10 Gbps
USB-A: 2 x 10 Gbps, 2 x 5 Gbps
Ethernet: 1 Gbps
Cards: SD and microSD UHS-I
Power delivery: up to 100W input, up to 85W to host
Power adapter: not included

The difference between 100W input and 85W host charging is decisive. Do not advertise only the larger number.

Replace the vague description

Before:

Unlock limitless productivity with twelve powerful ports.

After:

12-port USB-C dock with dual HDMI, Gigabit Ethernet, SD/microSD,
and up to 85W host charging when used with a suitable external power
adapter. Dual-display support on M2 MacBook Air requires DisplayLink
Manager. Power adapter not included.

Use stable technical identity

Assign a stable MPN, SKU, and revision. If DP12-R1 and DP12-R2 use different chipsets, do not merge their manuals or compatibility claims.

The canonical product page should identify the current model. Product JSON-LD and the product feed should not send buyers to an obsolete revision.

Create an evidence trail

Link:

  • compatibility matrix
  • setup guide
  • driver source
  • firmware notes
  • safety and compliance documents
  • package contents
  • warranty

Date version-sensitive pages. Redirect obsolete documentation only when the replacement applies to the same hardware.

Verification questions

  1. Can an M2 MacBook Air run two displays without software?
  2. Does 100W mean the laptop receives 100W?
  3. Is a power adapter included?
  4. Which USB ports support 10 Gbps?
  5. What display resolution and refresh rate were tested?
  6. Which model revision does the page describe?
