The product and room question
Cedar & Loom sells the Oakline Extendable Dining Table.
The buyer asks:
Find a solid-oak dining table that seats six every day and eight
occasionally, fits in a 300 cm by 330 cm room with chair clearance,
and can be delivered upstairs in Calgary.
The product can fit by table dimensions and still fail because the room lacks chair clearance or the delivery team cannot navigate the staircase.
Publish dimensions in both states

Use one unit system consistently and provide a conversion where the market requires it. Do not place dimensions only in a floor-plan image.
Name the material construction
“Oak finish” does not mean solid oak.
State:
Top: solid European oak
Legs: solid oak
Extension mechanism: powder-coated steel
Finish: water-based clear matte finish
If the product uses veneer, engineered wood, or mixed construction, say so. Material is a decision attribute, not a prestige word.
Explain seating responsibly
“Seats eight” depends on chair width and place settings. Publish the basis:
Designed for six seats at 160 cm and up to eight at 220 cm
using chairs no wider than 52 cm.
This gives an answer system a condition instead of an absolute.
Make delivery part of the product evidence
Publish:
- number and size of cartons
- largest component
- assembly required
- room-of-choice or threshold delivery
- stair and elevator rules
- service area
- appointment process
- return restrictions after assembly
Shipping calculators alone may not explain access restrictions.
Use Shopify fields
Use metafields for closed dimensions, extended dimensions, material, seating basis, assembly, and carton data. Product variants may represent finish, but each finish must show the correct image and availability.
Product JSON-LD can carry standard identity and Offer data. A product feed should use the correct material and destination URL, but the room-planning explanation belongs on the page.
Acceptance questions
- What are the exact closed and extended dimensions?
- Is the top solid wood or veneer?
- How much room is needed around the table?
- What chair width supports eight seats?
- What is the largest delivery component?
- Does upstairs delivery require prior approval?
- Can an assembled item be returned?
These answers reduce both recommendation uncertainty and expensive delivery failures.
